Laura Deruytter

Position: Postdoctoral Researcher at Vrije Universiteit Brussels (Cosmopolis, Geography) and Université Libre de Bruxelles (CEESE, Solvay)

I study the role of the state in financing socio-ecological transitions, including state-owned institutions in financial, energy and infrastructure sector, with a focus on Belgium. I also engage with debates on budgetary politics, austerity, state capacity and (de-)financialization of foundational economies.
