Aurélien Goutsmedt
Position: Postdoctoral Researcher at UCLouvain and Assistant Professor at ICHEC Brussels
I’m a historian of economics and political economist studying how economic ideas, expertise, and policies have evolved since the 1970s—particularly during stagflation. My research focuses on central banks: how they produce, use, and debate economic knowledge. I also analyze the political economy of inflation, examining how competing narratives shape policy decisions. I develop open-source tools: network analysis and natural language processing softwares and apps, and open databases.
